Happy 28th to me

OMG where did the year go? Seems like just yesterday i was posting a blog about me turning 27, and here i am posting about 28. Sometimes, i swear that someone has found the fast forward button and i get caught in the current. Mind you, it's not the end of the world. I'm learning to accept it for what it is. But at the same time, sometimes i wish it were easier to find the pause button and stop and enjoy the time we have. We are always so busy going from one activity to the next school function to the next day of work. We sometimes forget that there is beauty all around us, and we need to MAKE the time to enjoy it.

Since last November, things have been going so crazy. Between the car accident, the forclosure, having to move, losing the new car, the girls being sick, and Ruben being in the hospital, there was very little time between to just relax. (yeah, there were months between some, but we were constantly trying to make up for the lost time, or trying to keep our heads above water) It's exausting sometimes. But at the same time, while we didn't end up where we WANTED to be, we did end up where we NEEDED to be i guess. Ruben's still got an amazing job with coworkers who absolutely addore him (and the girls and I too, lol) We have an apartment that is bigger than the house we had, has central heat and air, and an office staff who really gives a damn about what's going on. We have a car that runs. Yea, it's got problems, but nothing that we can't make work. We have great connections up here, and even better friends. And although there are still problems, we have the means to make it work. Which, up until a few years ago, would have never been possible.

This year there are a lot of big plans. Hopefully they all work out. Getting the new car, paying bills for a year, and having play money during the year for trips to Arkansas, going to the zoo when we want to go, or anything else for that matter. Getting to see friends and family, and enjoying the time we have with them, will be a wonderful thing .

Today is Laundry day. (yeah, i know right? Laundry on my birthday, ugh! lol) But we had this whole weekend that we did stuff on. Friday we went out for a walk, got some food to eat at home, and enjoyed the weather since it was BEAUTIFUL. Yesterday we went out and went for another walk, hit the cupcake and candy store Pinkitzel (which ROCKS. If you're ever in the OKC area, look it up) and of course the Bricktown Candy Company (which rocks too, by the way) Got me a new pair of AWESOME boots. Some more Itunes funds for more games i want. And just the chance to spend time out with family. We went out to eat at Old Chicago (which has awesome food. I think it's up at the top of my list for up here) and then let Ivy pick out a new toy for being so good (desi got one Friday) Then came home and i crashed out early. OMG, long but totally awesome weekend. Now, we just wait for income tax and get that whole list of things finished. And maybe somewhere in there too we will end up with my medical settlement (if we even get one. At this point, i'm not so sure, haha) Ruben or I will probably call monday and find out what's going on and when we might be getting it.

AND we got more back on income tax than i thought we would. I think i forgot about some of the tax changes that happened. Between the making work pay credit, and the sales tax refund, and the extra stuff on state, we are getting an extra 400-500 in federal, and an extra 200 or so in state. Overall, not a huge deal. I'm excited. Between the two we are getting back a grand total of : 5036 in earned income credit, 800 in the Making work pay credit, and 2000 in additional child tax credit (Minus H&R block and bank fees) for a grand total of 7,288 in Federal. And state we get back - 66 from withholding, 160 in the Sales tax relief credit, and 252 in oklahoma earned income credit for a grand total of 478 state. The sales relief credit will be a seperate check (which i'm hopeing for one day this next week. That would be AWESOME) and then we get the rest in a seperate check. We should have the federal direct deposited into our emerald card by no later than the 11th and as early as the 5th (which would be GREAT if it were the 5th, but i'm not betting on it, ya know)

And another good thing that's happened so far is that i finally got to reapply for the soonercare for the girls and soonerplan for me. SOO, i can get my yearly exam and birth control stuff taken care of, the girls can get the dentist and doctors appointments taken care of again, and we will finally be back to where we need to be. I'm glad to find it all out, ya know? Good to be done.

FOr now, i need to get laundry together and see if Desiree will take a nap, and then get out of here and get it done. Not gonna worry TOO much about it all. Just gonna do what is important and be done with it. SOO< laters! Have a great day, week, and hopefully year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, lol. LATERS
