This last week was a pretty eventful one. LOTS went on. But it was totally worth it. At least most of it. But that's life right? Everyone has problems. Not gonna force mine down other people throats like some people do. Just gonna put my head down and keep pushing through, and see what happens.
Anyway. Spent most of the day Tuesday cleaning house. Getting the living room and kitchen and the girls bedrooms clean. The living room is FINALLY finished (at least for now, until we decide to move a few things around again, which I'm sure we will, lol) Can actually use everything, and know where everything is. And it LOOKS good too. Which makes me happy. :)
So anyway, got the house super clean. The Wednesday morning got up and straightened up a few things and waited until my family came up from Arkansas. Was super happy to see them. I've been homesick for a while now, and can't afford to make the trip, and the car won't make it either. SOO, yeah. When they got here we sat around and talked for a bit before heading out.
We started their visit by going over to their hotel, which isn't TOO far from where I live. Got them checked in, let the girls watch a movie, and just relaxed for an hour or two. Then we went to pick up a friend of my sisters from the bus stop. She road the Mega Bus from Dallas to here - and only paid $8.50 for her ticket! I had to check her receipt, lol. I didn't believe it. So we picked her up and then hit Bricktown. Walked around a bit. Let the girls play in the little fountain up there. Then went to eat at Fuzzy's (Which is awesome by the way. If you ever come to OKC check them out - Down in bricktown across the canal from the Harkins movie theatre.) Then I went home while mom and the girls (my sis and her kids and my girls) all went back to the hotel. I had to come home to get our swimsuits, lol. Then we went swimming for about an hour. Then they went to bed, and the girls and I came home - and after Ruben went to work we crashed too.
Thursday morning we started off at the OKC Zoo. LOVE my zoofriends pass. Seriously, if you're in the area, or can be in the area on any kind of regular basis, it's the best 70 bucks you'll spend. We make our money back EARLY in the year, and then it's just free visits from there. So anyway, we went to the zoo. Walked around to see some of the animals, watched the sea lions show - For free thanks to the News 9 event that was going on - and let the girls play in the childrens zoo water feature. Then we got tram bracelets and rode the tram - Which let us see some of the animals they wanted to see without having to walk for miles to see them all, lol. Then we left there and went to the mcdonalds right around the corner and let them play in the playplace while we ate. Then we drove CLEAR ACROSS TOWN to the outlet shoppes of OKC. Now, mind you, it's not that bad when you can take the interstate and have ac in your car. I, however, cannot drive the interstate cause my car is a brat. And the AC doesn't work either. SOOO, they took the interstate and had their AC and all that jazz, and I took my car. (Thankfully, the girls rode with mom in her van so they didn't have to deal with it). It only took me an extra 20 mins, which isn't really that bad consiering we went from the far northeast side of the city to the far mid-west of the city. Then went shopping out there. Got three items (a cute mini lunch box with disney characters all nerded out that says "lets nerd out" and two mini erasser sets with Belle and Cinderella and a few dresses for them to change around) for less than 5 bucks. And if you've ever been to the Disney store, you know that was a KILLER deal. Then we left there and took city streets over to Air Depot in Midwest city - During rush hour traffic, with no AC in 100+ weather - to go eat at Cicis pizza. Then we went to walmart.
And this is where I actually cried while they were here (other than when they left, cause I always cry then). We got to talking about what's been going on. The garnishment, my MS stuffs, school coming up, etc. And I mentioned that I had to figure out how to pay rent, and still manage to get Ivy's school supplies. So mom mentioned that they'd help out. We got the list, and started piling stuff in the cart. Now, I just thought they'd get SOME of it. But they just kept going. The ended up buying the whole list for her! I was so grateful that i literally broke down in tears right in the middle of walmart. I guess i'd been stressing about that a lot more than I thought I had been. Cause that took more stress off me then I even realized i had. They they bought her a couple pairs of pants and a few shirts for school. I was so happy, and so grateful, that I broke down again after we left. All I could do was hug my mama and say thank you. They are such a blessing, i swear.
And then we came home and did dinner. Then Friday morning we got up and around and went to meet Barbara (my grandmas friend) and visit with her and my grandma for a bit. Then we took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese (thanks to the great friend giving us tokens it was free) Had 5 kids, and three adults, who all played games and we still managed to be there for over an hour with the tokens I grabbed. It was fun. Let the kids get lots of stuffs, and we all had a blast. And I even got a workout, lol. I played the basketball game like 5 times in a row and managed to break a sweat. Then we left there and went to eat at Braums. YUMMY chicken strips. I love their food, and their Ice cream. Too bad we can't afford it often. Then they left, and I brought the rest home to Ruben. And they left. Ivy cried like crazy, which had ME crying like crazy, which had mom crying like crazy. It was just a big bawling fest, lol. I miss them something fierce sometimes. Yeah, we have our moments where we don't always see eye to eye (on things like religion) but we can still manage to get along ok.
It was a very enjoyable trip.
The rest of the day Friday we just lay around and played video games and watched TV and stayed cool. Sat I got out and ran a few errands -- Hit Dunken first for a free drink (which I upgraded for a buch - which means I got a large coolata for 1 dollar!) first. Then hit homeland for pepsi throwback (since walmart doesn't carry it) then hit walmart for a few groceries. Then oncue for gas. Then came home. It was hot and miserable, but had to be done and I'm glad I got to do it alone cause it was nice to have the time, and the girls didn't need to be out in the heat anyway. Got that done, then came home and took a good nap. The heat drains me like MAD. Then Daniel came over for game night. Ruben and him played a game of Warmachine while I watched. I was exhausted, so I don't think me playing a game would have been a good idea. Then I crashed out about 4am! lol. Yeah, that's the one night a week I do that kinda crap.
Then today I got to sleep in until 11, which was awesome. Then went and did laundry and managed to crank it out in less than 5 hours (which for washing, drying, and folding 2 full loads isn't all that bad). Did chicken fettuccini (sp?) for dinner with steamed vegis on the side. Watched an episode of the clone wars (which the girls love to watch too) and then put the girls to bed. Ruben and I tried to play a game of Warmachine, which didn't go quite as planned, but whatever. We will finish it tomorrow.
On another note, we are hardcore potty training Desi. Bout her two new packages of panties in place of a pack of diapers, and she's not wearing diapers again - PERIOD! I'm tired of them. We will get it, darnit! She's doing OK, for the most part. Still cant' get the poop part down, but no biggie. She's not going to pre-k this year, so i'll have some one on one time once Ivy starts school this year to really work with her. Shouldn't be TOO bad.
Anyway, for now, I gotta get off here. It's almost 1am, and I'm sure i'll be woken up at 7 something, lol. I really do love my life, but sometimes being able to sleep in again would be nice ;)
LATERS!
