There is something that bugs me in the media right now. And that's all these companies telling everyone to "Remain neutral" in the whole sexuality debate, yet on their pages they have "ban this company" or "don't buy stuff from here", or "Don't let your kids watch this, or read that" etc because it has a gay or lesbian character, or the company head supports same sex marriage, etc. I'm sorry, but neutral doesn't mean you get to support one side of the other. It means NEUTRAL. It means you have no opinion (or if you do you don't voice it constantly). So I seriously get tired of hearing all this BS.
For example - One Million Moms has things posted telling everyone to remain neutral, but then they have a list of letters to write to companies against things they are doing. Pretty sure that's not neutral.
Frankly, i don't care if you're gay or straight, black or white, Christian or wiccan or athiest. You're a person. An amazing person. You deserve the same respect as the next guy, and I make it a point every day to show everyone the same respect. I only hope that you can show me the same respect.
Instead of walking around with your nose in the air judging everyone you see, thus wasteing your time and energy on negative things, open your eyes to all the beauty in the world. If you don't like something, or don't agree with something, then just avoid it. If a commercial comes on for a company who has different views than you have - CHANGE THE CHANNEL. Nobody is forceing you to watch said commercial. If you don't like the views of a certain company, don't shop there. If you don't like the way I'm acting, the way I dress, or what i believe in, then by all means - There's the door. Don't let it hit you in the ass on the way out. I am who I am, and it's taken me almost 30 years to accept that. I don't force my views down your throat, and i don't go around advertising what I believe. I keep it to myself, because everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. If you can't accept that, then go. Because I'm an amazing person. And while I might sin differently then you do, EVERYONE SINS. Everyone! Not a single person on earth today doesn't sin every single day of their lives. If they tell you the don't, they are lying through their teeth, and that is a sin in itself. So just do me a favor: If you're gonna be neutral, be TRULY neutral. If you're gonna have an opinion about EVERYTHING, that is fine - BUT don't go around forcing it down everyone elses throat. Show the world the same respect that you want shown to you. Because, truth be told, when you start that crap it makes me not like YOU. Just for the record.
There, just had to get that out. If you don't like me for it, that's fine. It's not my loss if you can't accept me for who I am. Just means I'm finding out who my real friends and family are. So the ball is in your court now. Leave a comment. Let me know what you think. Or go delete me off your reading list and your facebook page, or whatever. Either way, you're not gonna break my heart.
That is all, lol. I just had to say what I was thinking. Just tired of hearing "We are neutral. Ban this company" :p
