You know, in this world there is a lot of evil. Evil people doing evil things. It's something that you have to come to terms with or you will never find happiness because all you will see is the evil. Bad things happen, often to good people, because of the evil in the world.
BUT, that is no reason to become petty or evil yourselves.
Gun laws are no the enemy. Yes, I own a gun. Next year I will get my conceled carry so I can bring it with me when I go out and about. But a family does NOT need automatic weapons. It does NOT need high caliber weapons. A small .45 or less is perfectly appropriate for self defense and protection. You don't need a big gun to protect yourself. Big guns, or automatic guns, were created with one purpose, and that's the kill. People, animals, whatever. But that's all they are good for. I believe that keeping families from buying automatic weapons, making sure that nobody underage buys them, making sure that people know how to use them, etc. is a very very good thing. Gun laws are not evil, and owning a gun is not evil. It's what you do with that gun that matters. So please, for the love of all things good, stop going to extremes on the subject. GUN LAWS will not end violence. And letting everyone and their cousin own a gun won't either. We need to educate the people and help them see the good in life so that they don't start using said guns to take their pain and agression out on others.
Religion is another thing that has been tossed around a lot lately. Especially after the tragedy at Sandy Hook, people are all screaming that religion should be back in schools. People, having religion in schools would NOT have stopped that tragedy. It wasn't even someone who WENT to that school. It was a 20 year old male with a gun and a grudge. Even if prayer was allowed in schools it still would have happened. And there are too many religions to really say THIS is the nations religion and needs to be EVERYWHERE. I have nothing against religion. That's not what i'm saying at all. Believe what you want to believe in your own lives. But do not try to assume that your one religion is the be all end all one true religion, because at the end of the day HOW DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE? God told you so through a prophet? Oh wait, MOST religions have the same thing - so that's out. You feel it in your gut? You just know? Yeah, well so do the others from all the other religions. So stop with the arrogance and the tactlessness and the pushy BS and let everyone live their lives. The bible doesn't say Judge Not lest you be judged for no reason. It's not your place to judge. When we die, GOD (or whatever higher power you believe in ) will do the judging. So leave it in that higher powers hands. Stop bringing negativity into the world. Seriously. You complain about all the evil, but when you are hateful and judgemental, YOU are bringing more negativity and evil into the world. Find the good in PEOPLE, and forget about race, or religion, or gender. THAT will go a long way.
The Westboro Church has said they are going to picket the funerals of the CHILDREN that died in the Sandy Hook shooting. I'm sorry, but THAT is the epitime of EVIL! Those children did NOTHING wrong. They did not die because GOD decided it was their time. They died at the hands of an evil misled man. They are nothing but a HATE group whos only goal in life is to force their views on people who don't believe the same way. There's a petition on the White House government page to see them as a hate group. Go - Sign it - and lets hope that someone FINALLY gets a handle on the BS that they do all the time. It breaks my heart.
There is a story of one teacher at Sandy hook that just breaks my hear and gets me tearing up every time I think about it. This one teacher, when she heard all the commotion outside her classroom, hid her students in cabinents and closets and out of sight, and when the gunman came to her classroom she told him they were in the gym. He shot her and moved on. She GAVE HER LIFE to protect the lives of her students. So the next time you see your childs teacher, or principle, tell them thank you. They really do LOVE your kids. They'd have to to put up with everything they put up with, and do everything they do. They spend COUNTLESS hours creating papers, grading papers, organizing information, tutoring, reading, hugging, listening to your kids, comforting them when they cry, etc. If they didn't love your kids they would never do it. So seriously, tell them thank you.
When I watch Hoarders, I feel better about the mess that is my house. My house can be clean with just a few good hours of cleaning. The houses on there just make me claustrophobic and sick. I feel better about the way I live, even though I still hate all the things that are cluttered around here. Just sayin.
For now though, I need to get Ruben up, and make dinner, and hug my children close. It's been a long few days, and I've been super emotional, and I just need to get a good nights sleep and a good cuddle.
