Surprising blessings

OMG
Seriously, we have the most amazing friends.  Not even kidding.

One of our friends sent us a $50 walmart gift card to help us buy school supplies not too long ago.  I think I already mentioned that, but there's more to it today.  That same friends mom (-inlaw) sent me a message today and told me she is sending me something to let us go shopping for the girls school stuff.  Um, what?  TOTALLY UNEXPECTED!  It brought tears to my eyes too, because it was out of the blue.  And she said that they always do something like that in their neighborhood in a program called "Fill a backpack" but they never really get to meet the kids they help.  So this year they decided that they wanted to help someone "they love" - direct quote.  And they chose our girls!!!  I cried.  Literally cried.  It was such a blessing.  No idea what it is, or where it's for.  But at this point, any help is beyond a great blessing. :)  So that's in the mail headed this way and should be here in the next few days.

Then on top of that, my mom is buying the girls a first day of school outfit and shipping it out either today or tomorrow too.  So that's a major blessing, since we can't afford to get it for them ourselves and they would have had to start in their old clothes (mind you, that's not the end of the world, but we always like for them to start in a new outfit so they feel good about themselves).  That makes me super happy, and I feel so blessed to have such amazing family too.  And soon, she will be paying our way down to meet my new niece when Whitney goes into labor.  Which I have a feeling is going to be before her due date, because she is already having contractions and is starting to dialate (not a whole lot, but she's starting)  So it's going to be awesome. :)  I'm ready to meet her, hehe.  So that's a blessing too that I'm gonna get to make the trip down when she's born.  It is such a blessing.

This weekend is Desiree's birthday.  And we actually got to spend a good amount on her this year, thanks go Ruben's raise, and my awesome budgeting skills, haha.  It's gonna be awesome to see her face when she gets to open her gifts this year.  Cause they are pretty darn awesome. :)  Gonna do that Saturday so that daddy can be there too.  And then Sunday we are going to have the birthday stuff for the Mother-in-law and Desi over at their house on Sunday.  His dad is gonna pay for the cake too, so that'll be nice too.  And then Saturday night we are gonna have game night early so that we can actually get together and play some games since the guys haven't been able to stay up too late thanks to being an adult and all that jazz, haha. :p

Just so much going on, and it just reminds me how amazing our life really is.  Yeah, we've had some stupid horrible shit happen to us.  Living on couches, having to move every couple months back and forth, and wondering where we were going to get our next meal, or where we were going to sleep.  Yeah, we've had a lot of different jobs fall through, and a lot of people screw us over.  BUT we never wanted for any of the necessities.  We always had food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a roof over our head.  We always had what we NEEDED to have, even if we had to fight for it. Thanks to amazing friends and family, we've never wanted for anything that we needed to have. And that's saying a lot.  And I feel so blessed about it.  SOO BLESSED!  I can't say thank you enough.  I don't even know how to START saying thank you enough.

I know that we are going to start trying to pay it forward, and start helping other people as much as we can.  Got a friend who just had surgery on his knee, and just moved into a new place.  So he has a billion boxes of things to unpack, and no real way to be able to do it.  He's gonna be in recovery for a while, so I offered my cleaning services, and unpacking services, for just the cost of the gas to get their and back.  Got another friend who is about to have to move into his mom and dads house because their old house is falling apart and he is drowing in debt, and he's gonna need help packing and moving and cleaning it out onces he does move.  So we are gonna help them do that as much as humanly possible.

In other news:

I've been having a horrible MS flare.  HORRIBLE.  It seriously sucks.  I've been having some pretty bad pain, and not really been able to do much of ANYTHING.  But at the same time, I'm in a really awesome mood.  I know that things can wait.  I know that spending time with family is way more important than anything else because they are way more important than a spotless house.  The cleaning can wait.

We met the girls teachers this morning. :)  Ivy's teacher, Mrs Lindsey is preggers, haha.  She's gonna be out for part of November / December and then be back in January.  So that'll be interesting.  And Desi's teacher is a really good teacher - although out of the classroom we aren't quite as good.  It might just be me, but I remember how hateful she was when we lost track of Ivy at the marathon a few years back.  Shouldn't be a huge deal though, cause we are gonna have an amazing time worrying about Desiree. :)

This weekend we are gonna spend the last two days with the kids.  Gonna take the kids out to get some good "back to school / birthday" pics.  Might take them to the zoo.  Or out to play mini golf.  Just have to see for sure what happens.  But we are gonna make it AWESOME since it's the last weekend before school starts.

Desi's birthday is Sunday, so we are getting ready for that.

School starts Monday, which is gonna be SOO WEIRD! I'm gonna have way more free time than I'm used to having in a VERY long time.  So I've gotta find a way to fill that time again.  Honestly, I haven't had "free" time since Ivy was born, haha.  Been a stay at home mom for the last 5 years.  But I'll be able to do the things that I really want to do, without having to keep up with the kids.  Not a WHOLE LOT, but enough.  So it'll be interesting.  I'll spend that first day cleaning, cause Pest Control is Tuesday.

Pest control is Tuesday, and then I'll have some time to relax before time to get the kids and clean the house back up.

Wednesday is gonna be a "free" day.  Gotta find something to do for the few hours between when Ruben goes to bed and the kids get home.

Thursday is Payday.  So cashing the check and running errands.

Friday will be the first full free day Ruben and I will have together in FOREVER.  So I'm sure we will find something awesome to do - just the two of us.

Ok, now it's time to get Ruben up and do dinner.  Gotta get my headache to go away, but that's all good.  Ready to spend an evening with my family.
