overwhelmed

This year, right now, i'm so freaking overwhelmed. Not all of it is bad. But not all of it is good either. Being so broke is difficult, as anybody who struggles with finances can tell you. This time of year is always like this though. We RARELY have enough to do all the things we need to do at the end of the year. And the fact that it always falls when Ivy is out of school makes it even more difficult. But there isn't much we can do about that. So moving on...

We are struggling with the car making it where we need it to go. There are a lot of things that it needs. An oil change, new tires, and spark plugs and wires just to name a few. And of course we can't afford to get that taken care of just yet. We have a feeling that Ruben will be getting his w2 with his first check in January, like he has the last couple years. If that's what's going on, it will come in on January 13th. Which is fine. It would be GREAT if it was here before that, but that's at least early enough that we only have just over 2 weeks. I think i can be patient enough for that. I'm just ready to have a car that i KNOW will start every time i turn the key, and i KNOW will make it to wherever we are going, and not have to worry if it's going to break down on the side of the road, especially now that we don't have a cell phone. I hope to get a prepaid cell sometime soon, that way we have an emergency phone number that people can reach us if our cable goes out (which it seems to like to do here at the apartment. It's happened at least 2 times already) Or if we are on the road and something happens. Doesn't have to be anything expensive, just something that works.

Christmas is over, and now comes the final week of the year. It's hard to believe that it's already that time of year. Seriously, where did 2010 go?? Not that i'm complaining. The last year has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride, and i'm ready for it to settle down just a bit. Hopefully next year will be a better year.

Our income tax return should be pretty great. And then about the same time, we should be getting my medical settlement (Just over a year after the accident happened. I guess that's pretty good, considering it WAS going to be even longer than that) So that should make for a great start to the year. A new car that works, paying bills up, and paying bills ahead on certain things (where the bills don't change, like car insurance, gamefly, netflix, and a lifetime membership of Jumpstart for Ivy) and that would allow us to have more money during the months, which i think will be a great thing. It will help relax a bit too, knowing that we have that little cushion. And hopefully, i can set some of it away into a savings account, and use that to pay overwhelming bills, and to start to buy christmas early as the year goes on. Gonna buy a tote to put it all in, and hide it in the top of our closet, so that the girls and the family will already be taken care of by the time ACTUAL christmas shopping rolls around next year.

My house got a bit messed up this last week. I knew it was going to happen, seeing as how BOTH girls were home and stir crazy. But that doesn't make it easier to look at. i know that one day this week i'm going to go crazy and clean it all back up. It's too frustrating to look at, especially after working so damn hard to get it together. Oh well, whatever right?

Ruben's xbox 360 finally crapped out and won't read disks anymore. It was shit considering it happened right in the middle of his guys night, so they didn't have anything to play :( It still works for arcade games he owns, and for netflix and last-fm, so it's not gonna get thrown away or anything, but the laser eye, or moter (sp? i can tell i'm tired) is out, so the disks just don't work. Kinda crappy, but we knew it was gonna happen. At least we can afford to replace it this year. Gonna probably get one that has something like 150 gb hard drive included, and kinect so we can use some of those games that are coming out, which i think are awesome, like the workout programs from the biggest loser :p YAY! That would be great. So we've gotta get that replaced, and we are gonna replace our ps2 before they stop manufacturing them. And probably get two or three controllers for both of them, seeing as how we have a few games for both that have multiplayer capabilities, and it would be fun to play something like that on occassion (sp?)

Right now, we are coming up on 1 am very quickly, and i probably should have been in bed 2 hours ago, but my mind was racing too much. I'm gonna go throw on my headphones and sleepy stuffs, and crash. LATERS
