The other shoe

ya know, once we had a chance to good and think about it, the other shoe wasn't so bad. Yeah, it kinda sucks, and the thought of garnishment kinda freaks me out, BUT, at the same time, it could be WAY worse.

I did some research, read a LOT of things about garnishment, and realized that it's not as HORRIBLE as i once thought it was. The most they can take from is 25% (since he doesn't make the amount for the other thing they say), and it can only be taken for 180 days at MOST, usually only 3 months, before they have to file another garnishment thing. I just hope that they don't do anything before the end of the year. We couldn't possibly afford that before then. I have no idea how long it normally takes. But i'm sure we will get notice of judgement, and when that happens THEN we need to start worrying about it all. And all we have to worry about is making it to income tax.

Yeah, that's the part that sucks the worst. If they garnish his paycheck, that cuts down on that extra money we were going to have. But i came to a realization that, EVEN IF they do continue it for that long, and all that jazz, we would still have extra money, and enough to take trips to arkansas once a month or so, and we'd still be able to afford the season passes we wanted, and have the extra gas money. Maybe not have the money to get all the stuff we wanted to get for around teh house, at least not when we WANTED to get it, but we could still save a bit, and still get to do new things, and still organize the house better, just not with all the things i wanted to use. Instead of the 3/3 wooden shlves, we might have to just use the metal ones, which i can get one that has 6 squares for 20 bucks. SOO, i could have 12 shelves for 40 bucks plus the drawyers, which is actually cheaper than the other shelves, and would work just fine.

Either way, i have to look at it as - We will be fine. We've survived WAY worse. And the thing that will be taken into consideration, as far as everything i've read (correct me if you know or find different) they have to leave enough for the necessities. For us that's rent (550) electric (aprox 200-250 a month) and car insurance (110). SOO, they have to leave us 910 a month MINIMUM, and 25% of his paychecks would only take 400ish a month, leaving us with 1200 a month. SOO, we'd be ok.

Although, the research i've seen on the company says they charge STUPID interest, and people have had issues paying the balance off because all they are paying on is interest. I need to read our contract with them and see what interest rate it says in there, and go from there.

For now though, i'm gonna change Desiree's diaper, eat something for lunch, then check the mail and take the girls to the park. It's too darn pretty out there to stay around the house (at least compared to the 100 plus temps it's been lately.) SOO, i will probably write more later. i know i've handwritten something like 100 pages over the last three days. LOTS lots lots going on in my head right now.

LATERS!
