26/30 - wrong popular notions

What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong?


The biggest one that I think the world (or at least the vast majority of it) has wrong is that money is what's important.  That the more money you have the more successful you are, and that being broke means you are unhappy and lazy.  I am broke, and while there are some days I do wish I'd win the lottery and be able to pay off all my bills and buy a house and fix the cars, etc, etc, etc, it's not something that would FIX my life.  I find happiness in the smaller things when I don't have money to hide behind, and that makes the things you do get more thought out and you appreciate them more.  If you have to actually work for something, you appreciate that something more than if you can just walk in and drop cash for it any day of the week. 

If Greed weren't such a huge part of this world, a lot more would get done.  There would be no starving children because people would realize that it doesn't take that much to feed them.  There would be no homeless becase the 100 acres that people have their mansions built on could build an entire neighborhood of homes.  Hospitals would be able to treat anybody that needed it, without needing an arm and a leg in return, and there would be far less pointless loss of life. 

But instead people build these extravagant homes with giant walls to hide behind.  I guess it's a way to ignore the problems beyond that wall.  It's something that's been around forever.  And i'm sure it's not gonna go away anytime soon.  But they are wrong, and the vast majority of us below the poverty line know that.


Now, something our COUNTRY gets wrong is that the president is the one that has control of the country, and that when a law he promised would get passed doesn't that he didn't do all he could to get it done.  The forget completely that there are people in congress that pass the bills.  That those people they hire every couple years to get things done are the ones who REALLY pull the strings.  Stop focusing on the President and start focusing on the Congressmen and women and what they have to say.  Politics pisses me off because so few actually know what's going on, and the ones who don't know refuse to see the truth.  And that, dear friends, is what's wrong with our country. 



Just my opinion, but that's what I think the world has wrong.
