UGH! Summer is trying to kill me

But at least summer vacation is drawing to a close.

Hard to believe that school starts again for Ivy in just under two weeks!  EEK!  Where did the summer go?   It's funny.  I say that now, but at the start of the summer I was wondering how in the heck I'd keep the girls occupied all summer long.  Now here we are, two weeks from it being over.

I know Ivy is excited to see who her teacher is, and to get back to school and show off her new scar, lol.  Yeah, she's not a tomboy AT ALL ;)  And truthfully, I'm glad at the thought of having only one kid at a time during the day.  Got a lot planned for Desi and I this year, seeing as how I'm taking the place of her pre-k teacher.  Won't have a LOT of time where it's just the two of us, since Daddy will be here and awake for a while each day too.  But the time we do have together (at least once the weather chills out a bit) will be spent learning hands on at different places around town.  Probably go ahead and get the library cards (FINALLY) since I've been putting it off for a while now.  And then pick one day a week were we go to the library - Probably Sat mornings so Ivy can join us.  And spend the week going through the books that she picked out, and the things she wants to learn about.  I know I'm gonna do a lot of research the next two weeks and try to pick up some stuff that she can use hands on to learn at home.  Some videos, some books, etc.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

But at the same time, I will miss having both my girls home.  Ivy has been such a huge help with this whole MSish thing, and she always makes me smile when things seem to be going bad.  And I know it's a huge responsibility for her to help so much, but she's taking it with so much pride it makes me smile.  It's hard to believe she's almost 9 years old.  WHERE DID THE TIME GO!  She's gonna be in 3rd grade.  Just blows my mind.

Tonight we have a lot going on.  Cooking dinner - Doing Steaks and hashbrowns.  Cleaning house - for company.  Although they won't be here for another 4ish hours or so, lol.  Gonna play a few games and hang out and just enjoy the company.  Already have my energy drink ready, lol.  Although, since we've been doing this for a few months now, It's getting a bit easier to actually stay up and enjoy the time.

Then tomorrow is Laundry.  And truth be told, I am NOT looking forward to that.  Not just because I HATE doing laundry, but because my legs have been flairing bad and it's up and down stairs, and because it means I have to get out in the heat.  UGH!  I cannot wait until next year when we can FINALLY get the AC fixed in the car.  I'm so tired of having to get out EARLY early to get things done before it gets stupid hot, or having to be out in the heat if there's something important to get done.  :(  BLAH!  Just gotta be sure to bring our good glasses with something cold to drink, dress cool, and pray for the best, haha.

Then the rest of the week I will not be going anywhere.  Well, I say that.  But Ruben gets paid Thursday and we need to go get his check cashed.  Then hopefully the guy we are borrowing the rest of the rent from will get paid Friday and be able to get the rent to us on Sat so I can pay it Monday morning.  I HATE THIS.  I cannot wait until this damn garnishment is finished.  This month is covered - I believe - by that friend.  Then helping the friend of ours move and dog sitting for her should cover the money we need for September.  Then maybe we can get some more work from another friend for October.  HOPEFULLY we can make it work.  Thus far we seem to be ok, as long as we can keep it together.  I just hate that we won't have anything to spend for Desi and Ivy's birthday :(  That really sucks.  But we will at least still have a roof over our heads.  And i guess in the long run, that's what really matters.

For now though, It's about time to get back off my butt and get some more work done around the house.  Finish dinner, wake Ruben up, get the dishes done, etc.  LATERS!
