I hate politics. I always have, and I'm sure I always will.
It's more about the money than it is the people.
Right now, I'm PISSED AS HELL! Obama was reelected, and Obamacare stands. GET OVER IT! Oklahoma has decided NOT to set up the insurance exchange And it's decided NOT to expand medicare.
THEREFORE:
Those of us just below the poverty line get screwed. We make too much for medicare we live paycheck to paycheck and we will have to pay for our own insurance WHICH we will NOT receive any aid for from the government because the federal government will be setting up the exchange instead.
It just means that we are screwed.
And it pisses me off royally.
Politicians sitting in office making 6 digit incomes are deciding what's best for those of us doing good to make close to 24,000 - 25,000
LESS THAN 1/4 OF WHAT THEY MAKE!!!!
I swear, politicians should be required to live for a year on minimum wage before they are allowed to take an office where they get to make choices for everyone. Because all they care about is the people who pad their bank accounts. They could give a shit less about those of us down at the bottom WHO HOLD THEIR ASSES UP! They just step on us and keep walking. And it drives me insane.
I am, however, happy that the courts upheld the ruling against Hobby Lobby. A for profit organization should not get a say in what a woman decides to do with her body. PERIOD. Now, I don't believe that Plan B should be used as a form of contraceptive for everyone just because. I believe that people should use REGULAR birth control, like the pill, shot, IUD, ring, or condoms, etc. BUT, in instances that actually require it - Like being raped, or the rubber tearing - then it should be an option. And no BUSINESS or POLITICIAN should be allowed to make that choice for their employees. I will stand by that till the day I die. Religion is religion, and politics are politics, and a womans rights are a womans choice. THE THREE NEED TO STAY SEPERATE!
I am a bit stressed out thinking about the possibilities for what might happen with Ruben's job. He makes the vast majority of our income, but if his owner/ manager gets a say, he may cut his hours down to part time so that he doesn't have to provide the employees with health insurance. If he does that, things could get a little hairy. I jsut hope that he has better sense than that, because it would end up costing him just as much, if not more, to hire people to fill in the other parts of the schedule that he'd lose people for. I guess we will just see what happens around the first of the year. I HATE not being able to know what's coming, but at the same time, I know we'd be able to survive it. I really do. If we can survive a garnishment cutting his monthly income by 400 bucks a month, then we can survive on his hours getting cut - as long as it's not TOO much. But like I said, we will see.
Just irritated. And needed to get it off my chest.
Here in a few it'll be time to get Ivy, then we will go drop off the ham at my mother-in-laws house, then hit walmart and deposit my check for this job and pick up some cardboard and duck tape so we can cover the hole in our pantry to keep the cat out. Then I'll have to start loading all the stuff into the pantry and cabinents. Gonna be a busy few days, but it'll be worth it.
Today I cleaned on base. Then we will have those errands. Tomorrow I finish cleaning on base. Thursday is Thanksgiving, which I'm sure we will spend a few hours at the in-laws house for. Friday I REFUSE to leave the house AT ALL. Maybe to go to the park or something FAR away from the retail environment. But I will not be going shopping PERIOD. It's not like I've got the extra money for it anyway. But then again, that's nothing new, haha. There's rarely anything I want to get from Black Friday anyway. It's not worth the stupid crazy lines and the stupid crazy people for a deal. If I want it bad enough, I'll pay full price, haha.
At least my house is still beautiful clean. :) I am glad that we've been keeping up with it the last little while. It makes it so much easier to clean all the way when we NEED it clean, like saturday nights. Anyway, I'm outta here. LATERS!
