Next thankful post: Days 6 - 11

Cause I am HORRIBLE at actually keeping up with daily stuff.

Day 6 -
I am thankful for the freedoms I enjoy every day.  There are countries where people die every single day for the freedoms we take for granted.  Something as simple as reading a certain book, or wearing a certain piece of clothing, etc.  So definently feel  blessed that we have the freedoms we have.  And even though the Government seems to think it's a good idea to take away certain freedoms in the name of religion, we still have more freedom than most countries will ever have in their entire existance.

Day 7 -
I am thankful for the fact that - despite all the financial hardships we suffered the last year - we have never gone hungry or without a roof over our heads.  Thanks to amazing friends and family, we were able to keep the things we needed, and pay the bills we had to pay.  Thanks to amazing people willing to let me work for them, there were even months where we had a few extra dollars, lol.  I am truly blessed with the greatest family and friends, and coworkers.

Day 8 -
I am super thankful for the fact that all of my friends online, and in real life, are adults.  During the elections some people got hateful, saying some very mean and opinionated things.  But most of the time the things I saw come across my wall were fact based statements, and not emotional statements.  Everyone kept their cool and didn't debate for days on end.  And once the results were posted, there were a few disappointed statements, and a few super happy statements, and then it was over.  Now we will see how the rest of the time goes, but as of now it's nice to know that there aren't a billion people arguing over something they can't control anyway.

Day 9 -
I am thankful for the ability to be the outside perspective for my friends.  When things are going crazy, I am able to help them see it from an outside point of view so they have an unbiased example.  And I know that, even though I can't FIX everything, i can help them see a way to find a solution.  And that makes me feel better, because I know I am at least helping them a little.

Day 10 -
I am thankful for the fact my husband has a set schedule and has Saturday off all day.  It gives the girls and I a chance to get to spend some actual time with him.  We don't have to worry about him not having the day off and not getting to see his girls.  He has two days off in a row, which allows him to still spend time with family, and that's what matters.

And Day 11 -
I am thankful for my in-laws allowing me to do laundry at their house.  That saves us so much money. One weeks laundry costs more than it would cost me to buy laundry deturgent for an entire MONTH.  And while it is annoying to have to lug it back and forth, the amount of money we save, the chance that the girls get to see their grandparents on a regular basis, and the chance they get to play in the back yard without a billion other kids being mean to them.  :)

and a bonus thing today
Since it's Veterans Day

I am thankful for all past, present, and future service men and women.
The fact that they give up YEARS of their lives to fight for freedoms we take for granted.  They are away from family and friends, in a new country, risking their lives each and every day, all day.  So today, I send a prayer to those still fighting.  A prayer to those who've lost family memebers due to their service.  And a prayer to all those who are thinking about, or who are just starting their journey.

Lyndsey
