Ya know, family visits rarely go as we expect them to go. So why I expected this one to go any specific way was probably a fault on my part. But this has been kinda difficult for me this time.
My mom and Sis and her kids came in Sunday night. Drove through the sleet and snow to get here, so I know she was hurting and tired. Then when Dad and Nick got in, we went to go eat at Burger King. It was nice. The kids all had a good time. Then Dad and Nick took them swimming for a while once they were done.
Monday we went shopping. Met in the morning, and went out to the Quail Springs Mall for a few hours. It was nice. Hit a few stores, got a bunch of CUTE stuff for the girls and even a couple things for me, and ate in the food court (I ate Sparro, which I LOVE, heh). Then we went back to the hotel and let the girls swim again. Then we left pretty early.
And this is where I get kinda emotional.
After we left, I find out that they all went out to eat at Zios. I would have LOVED to go with them, but we are broke so they would have had to cover us. Mind you, I know that would have been a LOT, but it would have been nice to get the OPTION to go with them. They didn't even tell me, at all, that they were going. :( But whatever.
Then today, we didn't even meet up until after noon. Then we took the girls to Chuck E Cheese up on the NW expressway. It was a really nice CEC, and we all had a good time. And the girls got to have quite a few tickets to split. :) So that was fun. Then we went back and I had brought a bunch of clothes for Whitney to look through to get stuff for her girlies and for her other nieces. She took quite a bit (YAY!), and then we relaxed for a few minutes before the girls and I left.
And then again, after we left, i find out they went out to eat again.
I'm sorry. For some reason that bothers me. When we go down to Arkansas, unless we tell them UP FRONT that we have other plans, we are expected to spend as much free time, and eat every meal, with them. But we don't get the same? Just seems a bit rude to me.
Maybe they are viewing this as a vacation, but one they aren't really able to spend a whole lot on, so they can't cover our food too (which I understand) cause we are BROKE broke and can't afford to pay for ourselves. I really could understand that. But in my mind, it feels like they just don't want to spend all that much time with us. I'm probably completely wrong, but that doesn't help when my brain starts screaming at me. Ya know?
But whatever. It's been a good visit even with all that.
Tomorrow we are going to meet up at Quail Springs Mall again, and we are gonna see Frozen. :) I'm excited to see the girls faces while they watch it. It looks like something they'd enjoy. So Hopefully that will be really nice. Then they are going to head home straight from there since they have a LOT going on the next few days too. I know I'm going to miss them like MAD. And it's harder knowing that we probably won't see them again until Spring Break next year.
Anyway
For now, I need to get off the computer and make dinner.
Then I can spend a couple hours with Ruben before he has to go to work.

Then, tomorrow, after they leave, I get to come home and work on deserts for Thanksgiving. Got a few things in there already, so I'll probably just make them, since we are really broke and can't afford to buy anything else for right now.
