the upswing

Life has its moments. It's ups and downs. Life has a way of helping you up when you've hit rock bottom, and knocking you on your ass when you think things are going well. The last few months things have been a bit wacky. Not bad, but tight. We struggled with money, had issues with family and friends, and wondered if we were going to make it to the end of the year without someone killing someone else.

Now, it seems, we are in an upswing. Things are starting to look up again. Bills are paid, on time. We've got plenty of food in the kitchen, and new clothes/shoes, etc to last the year. We now have TWO paid off vehicles. Yeah, one doesn't work well, and the other doesn't work AT ALL, but both are YET. The tibby (as we've nicknamed the tibouron) should be up and working within the next few days. And as long as the tags get renewed, we will be using it more often. It's a good vehicle. Fun. The other car, the grand am, will get a few upgrades if we end up keeping it. Otherwise his sister can deal with that. The apartment problems are getting fixed. We just signed our years lease for the next year. They are coming in to fix the bathtub. They fixed the air conditioner today. They replaced the smoke alarms battery, and the air filter yesterday. So for the most part, things in the apartment are good.

We finally broke down and bought some REAL housecleaning products. A Hoover Nono vaccuum. A swiffer sweeper. Some magic errasers. And some SOS and scrubby pads. Pretty much all i need to clean the house the way i want it cleaned. The vaccuum is Awesome! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! And the swiffer is awesome too. Got the wet and dry cloths, and they do a really great job. I got my house SPOTLESS day before yesterday. So i didn't feel bad about anything when they came in to do the inspection. The only other thing i need to happen is for my carpets to get cleaned. I am thinking about getting a woolite rug stick for the areas i need cleaned. It's mainly the kitchen and main walkway through the living room that need it, so that would work the best i think. No real reason to spend the money to rent a carpet cleaner or buy one for sure. Just mainly for the spot cleaning anyway. THAT would make the house PERFECT as far as i'm concerned. I'm happy. It's looking really good.

From what we were TOLD we should hear something about the medical settlement sometime this week. HOPEFULLY they get it taken care of. The offer was for 14,000, and their counter offer was for 15,000. No offense, but i think that was a waste of time. If they only get a third of what the settlement is, that means they are dragging it out for a measly 300 dollars. Sorry, but that's just stupid to me. When they call again, i'm going to make it VERY CLEAR that i want the settlement YESTERDAY and they do NOT have my permission to take it any further. They BETTER take care of it the way it was explained to me, because otherwise i'm going to kick some fucking ass. They bills better be paid first, and THEN they get their cut out of what's left. Take the loss guys. It's not the end of the world. I promise another case will come where you get some huge amount. Mine just wasn't one of them. Sorry, move on!

I'm SOO ready for a working car that will get me to arkansas. I seriously needs to see my people down there something FIERCE! Even if it's just a weekend trip and we don't get to do a whole whole lot, i need to go!

Ruben took the days off for our anniversary today. He took the thursday, sunday, and monday nights off. Which means we will have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday together! 5 wonderful days to spend together for our anniversary. I doubt we will really GO anywhere. Probably just hang around town and do some of the things we've wanted to do for a while. Maybe hit the bar and have a few drinks. Go to a movie. Try out a new resturant or two. And veg out at home. Maybe take a late night drive to Tulsa just for the hell of it. IDK. honestly, i don't think we are really going to make many PLANS. Just take it as it comes. That would be ideal for me at least. Just do what we want when we want. Been a LONG time since we've done that.I can't believe we've been married for 9 years now! WOW!

Speaking of long times - I can't believe that this year is our 10 year school reunion! OMFG where did the last 10 years go? They have been one hell of a ride, i tell ya what. But i wouldn't change it for the world. Gonna get a sitter and go just Ruben and I. Of course bring pictures of the girls. But that way they don't get all bored and cranky! It amazes me how fast those years went. I just hope that the other friends of mine go too! I would HATE to be the only one there. I'm pretty sure they will though. If i know my girls at all, we will ALL be there, looking hot and owning the room, haha. No, probably not, but we will at least get to catch up and see those that we loathed in high school and see how things turned out.

Right now, i'm watching TV and off and on putting things back in the cabinents from where pest control came out yesterday. Having myself kind of a lazy day.

Oh, Ivy has been able to do some pretty cool stuff at school. ANd aparently she's doing really well. Her teacher told me we didn't need a confrence because of how well she was doing. She just had me come up and pick up the progress report and sign the paper saying i got it. The ONLY thing Ivy's having trouble with was staring out the window sometimes, and her teacher moved her with her back to the window so it doesn't happen so often. If that is the only things wrong, i'm happy! Even her teacher said if that was the worst thing going on, she'd cheer! lol. I think that's awesome. And then her gym/dance teacher choose her for a special dance team. They only choose those who showed the best attitude, good behaviour, and talent. They are learning tap right now during Mr. Dennis's lunch hour. I think that's awesome. And then Ivy had me sign her up to participate in the OKC memorial marathon. They are walking every wednesday after school until the marathon, and then they will finish it the day of on sight. Pretty freaking cool if you ask me. And she will get unlimited food and drinks, a free t-shirt, and other free stuff. I'm wanting to sign up and participate with her. Just have to see what happens i guess, but i think she's doing an amazing job. I'm so proud of her!

Ok, right now i've gotta sign off her and go take some more painkillers, drink something, and decide what i'm doing for dinner. LATERS
