The glamourous life of a stay at home mom....

I love being a stay at home mom. Don't ever let me try to convince you i don't. Getting to watch my girls grow and learn, and actually getting to be a part of their lives when for so long i was having to work and be away from them and miss the important things they were doing. That being said, sometimes i find things can get a bit crazy.

Desiree is 3 now, and is pushing her limits, trying to see what we will let her get away with, and what she can do, etc. So she is constantly butting heads with me and Ivy. I know it's normal. I know she will grow out of it. But sometimes i just want to scream. When i hear "leave me alone" for an hour while i try to get her to clean the toys she has all over the floor, or "NO, i don't want to....." when i ask her to eat, or change clothes, or potty train, or get out the door so we can run errands. It can become very irritating. But then she has the great moments too, when she does something so cute that you can't help but laugh out loud. Like yesterday, we had to run to the store for something for dinner, and had to get gas. So before i left, i let them know where we were going and what we were doing, because we are working on lists (mainly to help with chores, and weekly schedules, etc). So we got gas, and then went to Homeland for groceries. As we got in the car to go home, Desiree went "gas station, check. Grocery store, check. Now we can go home." I couldn't help but smile. She cracks me up. She is soo smart, and picks things up so fast it's crazy. Today, i didn't even notice it before, but she had taken the DVD boxes out of Ivy's entertainment center and put them up in a black and white pattern. I doubt i would have even noticed if i wasn't straightening up the mess she had made, so sometimes it isn't a horrible thing.

Ivy amazes me too. She does her homework like pro. She has her chores down to an art in the morning, and can get them all done in a matter of about 30 minutes on a good day, and about 45 on most normal days (and that's eating breakfast, brushing her hair, straightening her bedroom and making her bed, getting dressed, getting her backpack together, brushing her teeth, getting her shoes on, and getting to school) Which as far as i'm concerned, is pretty good. I'm sure she can get it done even faster if she HAD to, but she is usually good. She usually wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00, and doesn't have to be at school until 9:00, and we don't even leave the house until 8:40-8:45. So i can't complain. I think if we had to live further away from the school again, i'd be the one with the problem, lol. She handles school very well, and is excited about the things coming up this year. Girl scouts starts again soon, She has a chance to audition for the dance team (thank goodness her tap shoes still fit!), She's already talking about the Childrens marathon in May for the memorial marathon stuff. She makes me so proud. Picture day was today, and she was beautiful when she left for school. :) That makes me so happy to see her so happy.

Tomorrw we get to go to the Science Museum, and Ivy doesn't know WHERE we are going, just that it is something special for her birthday. We are gonna try to get over there pretty early and make a day of it. Might hit the zoo for a quick walk around, and then hit the science museum. IDK, they open at the same time, so we might just do the science museum. I think i'm more excited than i'd like to admit. Just have to see what happens in the AM. Not a huge deal. I know it will be awesome fun. The girls are at a good age for it. i can't wait until next year when we have the season passes, and can take our time and really explore. I wish we could afford it now, but alas, we is broke, lol. Gonna clean out my memory card, and be sure to have plenty of batteries, so i can take plenty of pictures. I know it's gonna be great fun.

Last night was rough. Desiree was sick. Like, sick sick. About 10:30ish she threw up, just as Ruben was leaving for work. (of course) So i had to clean that up, and give her a bath. Then i put her to bed, and she wasn't in bed long enough for me to clean my bed off before she threw up again. :( So i get her up, put her in the bathtub, change her bed and get her new clothes, and lay her down again. I get my bed cleaned off, and lay down....And she does it again. SOO, i pull her out, get her undressed and back in the bath, change her bed, again, and then give her the bath and try again. After that she didnt have anything on her stomach anymore, so for the rest of the night she just woke up dry heaving (which breaks my heart. that hurts) She finally settled about 3:30-4:00 this morning and we got a little more sleep. I had ever intention to sleep until about 8:30, giving me enough time to get up and get dressed and get Ivy to school. But the stupid lawn crew woke me up first, about 7:45, mowing just outside my window. It's too damn early for that shit! But whatever. So i got MAYBE 3.5 -4.5 hours of sleep. I'm used to getting AT LEAST 7 hours, so i am EXHAUSTED. At least she hasn't been sick like that since she was about 9 months old. Long as it doesn't happen all that often i can handle a night or two of not much sleep. Here's hopeing it's over.

The rest of today is pretty easy going. Gonna straighten the
house, take a good nap (hopefully), my mother in law is gonna bring a dresser over for Ivy's bedroom, so i will probably get some work done on her bedroom closet, and get all the clothes organized so she doesn't have to dig through a pile for them. It will be pretty awesome. I'm so glad she found it. I've been needing it for a while. :)

Neway, gonna go play a little Dead or Alive 4 until time to go get Ivy from school. LATERS
