This weekend was CRAZY busy. Lots and lots of fun though.
It started Friday. Not really busy busy then, but it was still fun. Ivy had her "candy share" (this schools halloween party) Friday afternoon. We had bought some dum dum suckers for the class, but i didn't want to send them the way they were cause then the kids fight over what flavor they got. So intead i decorated them as little ghosts. Just covered them in white napkins, tied a bow around the stick to keep them in place, and drew little faces on them. So i did that and then ran them over to the school. THEN i came home and carved a pumpkin for the carving contest here in the apartment complex. I just did a "dead pumpkin" face. With a toothy smile and x's for eyes, and then "stitches" around the top. It was cute, and clean, but didn't win anything. I think one that had just etched stuff into the skin won. That's pretty complicated too, so i'm not upset, lol. I LOVED my pumpkin, and so did the girls. Then we went to bed pretty early and slept all night, not getting up early at all (cause it was too cold anyway) It was nice.
Then Saturday i wasn't feeling very well, so Ruben watched the girls for me while i napped most of the morning. It was a very nice feeling to be able to sleep. I finally got up and around about noon, cause we had things to get done. The girls and I were going over to trick or treat city in Midwest city at 2, and i wanted to do their hair and faces and all that jazz. So we got all did up and went to trick or treat at the park. The line was long, but not overly annoying. Then we came home and relaxed for a bit before we got all did up (me included) and went to the zoo. OMG the Zoo was INSANE. We had already bought our tickets, so we got to stand in a seperate line and all that jazz. But the line still wrapped around itself a few times before we got there. And then the line for those that HADN'T purchased their tickets went all the way down past the science museum. And after they purchased their tickets, they were having to go stand back at the end of the other line, so they were having to wait twice as long!!! OY! SOO glad i prepurchased mine. But the friends we were going with hadn't, so they woud have had to wait. Instead though, i snatched them as they bought their tickets and took them up with me, because we were at the front of the line about to get in, and iw an't gonna stand around and wait for them to get up there. nobody said anything, so all in all it was good. Once you were inside it wasn't that bad. the line moved pretty good, and you could stop and take pictures and all that jazz. I got a few good ones. I was happy with the whole thing. And ivy got to go with her friends, which was good for her too.
Then satuday night was adult game night. We didn't get home from the zoo until after 9pm, did a quick dinner and then put the girls to bed. Then we took a shower of our own, and FINALLY called our friend over to play a game. He didn't make it over until after midnight. And we didn't get started on the game until midnight thirty, one o'clock. We finally wrapped it up and i made it to bed about 5am!! Yeah, i know, CRAZY. Well, Ruben was gonna let me sleep until noon, so i could get at least 6-7 hours of sleep. BUT he ended up getting called in to work at 10 because the girl the night before didn't get the audit done right. :( BOO. So I only got 5 hours of sleep. SUCK. And then still had to go do laundry. so that sucked. I think i managed about an hour nap, but that didn't even help that much. Just all around a crazy day. It's all good though. I got what i needed to get done done, and that's what matters. Then came home, did dinner, and caught a catnap on the couch before Ruben had to go to work.
Then Monday Ivy had school, and Desiree and I stayed around the house and relaxed a bit. Then as soon as Ivy got out of school, we dressed them back up and headed out. First we hit the office here, where they got a little goody bag of stuffs. After that we hit the hotel , where we got to see Mrs. Lyndsay (as Desiree calls her, lol) and got lots of candy and a cupcake. Then we hit up grandma's house, who also loaded their buckets down with lots of candy. So before we even got started trick or treating, they had full baskets. Then we met up with Brenna, Jacob, and their mom Monika and went over to their aunts house to go trick or treating in their neighborhood. Before we headed out, we dumped their candy in a big plastic bag, and took off out the door. We didn't even hit the majority of their neighborhood, but the streets we DID hit almost every house had their lights on, so they got TONS of candy. By the time we were done, the target bag (the larger one too) was completely full! Although, we did have an adventure.
We had four adults, and probably 6-8 kids. We were kinda in two seperate groups. The fast kids, and the slow kids, lol. Well, we had stopped to kinda let the slower kids catch up before heading down the next street, and the kids were hitting the house on the corner while we waited. well, we look up, and we have four of the kids, but Desiree is missing! So we start looking around, thinking maybe she's just a bit further away and we can still see her. But as we look, we realize she's completely gone. Like, totally! My stinker of a child apparently wasn't paying attention to who she was around, and followed another group of kids down the street. THe four adults split up, each taking a street, and started calling for her. I got lucky, and picked the right street. By this point though, i'm in a total panic. I can't find her, i can't hear her, nothing. My mind went mad with bad thoughts. What if she was taken? what if she's hurt? What if we can't find her for a while? Etc. And i start to freak out. I can't breathe, i can't really think. All i can really do is just call her name and listen for her. About half a block, a block down the street i call for her, and see her come running up the fence line at me, crying and screaming. She came straight to me, and grabbed my neck, and just cried into my shoulder. She was like "i lost my mama, and my friends, and i didn't see you, and i was scared and cried" :( Broke my heart. I was so relieved that i found her though, seriously. The other parents kinda frustrated me though. I'm glad they helped look, but they didn't seem to think it was such a horrible thing. If it had been one of their kids, i'm sure it would have been a totally different thing, but whatever. We found her, she was safe, and we enjoyed the rest of our evening. Finally made it home just after 8pm, did spaghetti and meatballs, and then the girls were OUT, lol. I sorted through the candy, and OMG they got a lot of good stuff. Which sucks, cause it's all kinds of tmptation for me, lol. Oh well, just means i'll have to keep up with the house work to burn it all off, haha. Not the end of the world.
So all i all, it was a great weekend. Busy, exhausting, insane, stressful, fun, crazy weekend, but still great. got to meet new people, enjoy time with old friends, and play games. That's all i can really ask for, in the grand scheme of things, ya know?
Today was the first, so we went grocery shopping, and we did that early. So when we came home i turned on a movie, and sat down. And i haven't really done much else since, lol. Hey, can you really fault me? I walked enough this weekend to make up for a WEEK, i swear. Bout to turn on another movie and chill out. See if i can catch a catnap or something till Desiree wakes up from her nap. Ivy's about to go outside and play, so it should be quiet for at least a few, lol. Then i'll probably open up the patio door and let Desiree play on the patio for a bit and air the living room out. Fresh air would probably do us all some good :)
