20/30 - childhood memories

Describe 3 significant memories from your childhood.

OMG, this one might be a bit harder than i originally thought when i sat down and read the list.  There are a lot of things that i remember from being a kid that have really stuck with me.

I guess the first would be the family trips we took.  The fact that they made sure that we went for these trips, as a family.  Disneyworld, The Cruise, New York City, Treasure Island in Florida.  Each one has so many memories of being together, and having fun.  I only hope we can have half as much fun with our girls.

Second would be the damage my grandfather did to himself by smoking.  Watching him have a heart attack in my living room as a child.  Watching him struggle to breath and do even the simplest of things.  I know I smoked for a while, but I think it was more out of rebellion, or stress, because it wasn't as much of an addiction as i originally thought.  I quit, cold turky, completely, when i was preggers with Desiree.  :)  And i'm so thankful that Ruben finally quit too!  So very proud of him.

And Third are all the trips i took with friends (yeah, they were school trips, but hey, they were awesome)  All the trips to Drama competitions, and orchestra competitions.  Visiting places i'd never been before, and seen parts of cities i HAD been to in a completely different way.  Getting to know friends without the constant influence of our parents.  I remember the way Cassie and I used to drive the other orchestra students CRAZY singing songs in harmony on the bus trips, lol.  I remember watching shows that were a bit inappropriate television shows and discussing topics we shouldn't have really been discussing at that age.  About how much i miss those trips, and the teachers that took us on them.

That last one for sure brings up lots of emotions.  :)
