Politics - UGH!

FAIR WARNING:  This is a very opinionated political post.

If you can't read it without starting a debate over every word, please don't continue.  I just need to speak my mind about some of the crap going on, and this is somewhere I can do it without having to have a billion posts on facebook about why I'm wrong, or listening to people complain because I "can't back up what I'm saying" or some shit like that.

So yeah.  I guess if I had to choose a side, I'd side with Obama and the Democrats. Not because they are right so much as they aren't as wrong as the other side.

The fact that Romney feels he can balance the budget by cutting funding for PBS is hysterical.  They spend more in a week than the PBS gets in a YEAR.  That just cracks me up.

The fact that the Republican side keeps trying to tell me, as a woman, what I can and cannot do with my body pisses me off.  Now, don't get me wrong, I feel abortion is wrong too.  But it shouldn't be the governments choice if a woman gets one or not.

And the whole birth control debate pisses me off too.  If you take away birth control, there will be THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of unwanted pregnancies.  Add that to the inability to get a legal abortion, and there will be just as many back alley "doctors" who will step up to take their place.  And that will equal Hundreds of thousands that die or are seriously injured because of it.
Romney refuses to hand over his tax returns - which, of course, means he has something he wants to hide.  And on top of that, his wife trying to compare herself to those of us down here below the poverty line because they had to "sell some stock just to make ends meet" just blows my mind.  Seriously?  Spend a month in MY shoes, where you have to bust ass working piddly little min. wage jobs just to put gas in your car so you can go to the next one to put food on the table.  Where your husband has to work a full time job, and still only makes enough to barely pay the bills, let alone have any luxury.  Yet it's HARD FOR YOU when you're sitting in a dress that could pay my bills for A YEAR!!!!  Get off your high horse and realize how freaking stupid you sound.

If you have an opinion, at least keep that opinion straight.  Don't forget, if you are in public office EVERYTHING YOU SAY AND DO is recorded.  Changing your opinion every other year to keep your office, or to get more voters, or because you are just that wishy washy makes me not want to vote for you even more. Especialy when it has something to do with something I actually give a damn about. And being so wishy washy on the campaign trail, or in previous offices, proves that you are not ready to run the government.

And the whole health care debate is amazing to me.  The majority of the people bitching and complaining about it are either those who already have health insurance, or it's those who are pretty much healthy all the time.  Everyone else is just bitching because it was a democrat that got it passed when so many others didn't.  It's frustrating that so many people are STILL fighting it, even though the Supreme Court stands behind it too.  Ya know, I understand some people are pissed that they are going to have to pay for health insurance or get fined - but imagine how much you'd save the country on emergency room costs for those below the poverty line that can't afford the bills from the ER and end up not paying them.  Who do you think steps in to take over that payment?  Yep, taxpayers.  YOU!  So seriously, just get over it and accept that it's not the end of the world.

And to those of you choosing a side based on religion - Go back and read the constitution.  Seperation of Church and State.  That means that it doesn't matter what religion you believe in, Politics are politics are politics, and church is church.  KEEP THEM SEPERATE!  In this country alone there are hundreds of religions, and every single one of them believes different than the next - at least a little. Who are you to say that ONE of those religions is right, and all the rest are wrong?   Seriously?  That's not your fucking place, and it never will be.  That's between the people and their higher power.  NOT UP TO YOU!  So again, step off!  K?  Thanks.

I am so ready for this whole election to be over, because I'm tired of hearing about it.  Tired of having to back up my beliefs.  And tired of people screaming they are right, or plastering the pages I use with their propoganda.  Seriously not kool, k?  Just get it over with and lets move on and start bitching about what the president is or is not doing right. Can't wait for people to stop bitching about what they are doing wrong on the campaign.  Although, I'll be annoyed with the people bitching when the campaign promises fall short yet again.  I guess we will see who wins, but frankly, I just want it over with.  Until we can fix the PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS - Nothing is ever going to get done. And it's as simple as that.  The president can make all the promises he wants on the campaign trail - but if congress won't back him up once he is in office those promises won't matter.  People need to get that into their thick heads and start making a diffrence where it will actually matter.

Ok, that's my little rant.  If you read it, and it offended you, you were warned.  I will not appologize for speaking my mind.  I will NOT get into a debate about it either, so don't even bother if all you wanna do is fight.  I'm perfectly willing to have an adult conversation with someone, if they want to.  But the moment it turns into a debate it's over.  K?  Thanks.
