Touchy Subjects

This post is gonna be about some pretty touchy subjects.

Subjects stirring up a lot of debate right now throughout the entire country. 

So if you can't read it without being hateful, then please leave now.

I was raised a Jehovahs witness. Anybody who really knows me knows that. And a lot of my opinions were based on their techings for a very long time.  That holidays, other religions, gay marriage, etc were all very wrong.  That everyone needed to be converted to a Jehovahs witness or they would die forever.  Now, mind you, I can't say that it's right or wrong to believe that way.  I can't really feel the same way. 

Most religions are based on something that isn't even Christian. Most holidays are PAGAN in origin.  So I mean, i can understand why they would be "wrong" in the eyes of a TRUE christian.  The way they are all portrayed these days are so misguided. 

For example: Easter.  It takes place around the passover, and Jesus death.  But do you know Easters TRUE meaning?? I'm sure most of my readers do.  It is a PAGAN holiday.  It symbolizes fertility - thus the eggs and rabbit.  It has NOTHING, whatsoever, to do with Jesus resurection or passover or anything like that.  Yet we try to teach our children that's what it means.  It really is sad that so many actually believe that themselves, as adults.

I get so tired of listening to people preaching about "this holiday means THIS!" but they can't back it up.  And that really is sad.  Too big of a deal truly.  I'd show them the truth on the matter, but they are too stubborn to really pay attention anyway..... SOOO.

 Moving on to the MAIN topic of this post:

Same Sex Marriage

Truly, I DO NOT CARE!

It's not my place to judge.  Not my place to say it's wrong or right.  I know what I believe.  I know how I feel about the subject, and what I think about it as a whole.  But I am HUMAN.  I can't tell you it's right or wrong.  I'm not GOD, who truly makes those decisions.  GOD deturmines what's wrong or right.  Humans just guess.  We do our best, yes.  And I'm not saying it's the end of the world when we make a mistake.

But what really gets me in a tizzy is the fact that it's all

"THE BIBLE SAYS IT'S WRONG!!!"

Well, ok.  Lets REALLY think about that one for a minute.

Do you realize that the bible also says it's wrong to eat pork?  Or to wear mixed fabrics? 

Do you realize that the bible also says that if you rape a girl and get her pregnant you have to marry her?  Or that you should be put to death for working on the sabbath?  The bible says a LOT of things that the modern day "Christians" seem to forget.  So that argument is INVALID!  Come up with something else.

Yeah, it may gross you out.

But my question there is
WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT!? - Are you REALLY sitting around thinking about what two men do in bed together?  Cause if you are - that's perverted and you should be ashamed.  Or two women for that matter.  OR, if you ask me, two people AT ALL.  If you're picturing what people are doing in bed together you're not focused on what is really important.  Which is being the best person YOU can be.

Sometime soon, people will look back on this argument and realize just how stupid it all looks.  In the last century, it was illegal for a person of color to marry a white person.  It was illegal for women to vote.  And look how far we've come now.  I know a lot of the same christians who are screaming same sex marriage is wrong because the bible says so who would be APPAULED if they lived in a time wieh those two things still existed.  Having to fight tooth and nail just to be treated like everyone else.

Same sex marriage is not a sin, if you ask me.

It's two people who truly love each other swearing to love each other forever.  It is two people who deserve the same things that any other married couple deserves. 

I just hope the country grows up and gets over itself so we can stop this damn petty argument. This country was founded on FREEDOM.  On the seperation of Church and State.  On being allowed to live our own lives.  Yet people are trying to take personal freedoms away from people based on CHURCH reasons. It is seriously exhausting.

Ok, now I'm gonna get off the computer before I ramble even more.  I'm done with this argument.  I will not get into it any more. I have my opinion,  You have yours.  Lets just get on with our lives, shall we?
