Now, I'm saying this at the start of this post to keep all of you with an opinion in a peaceful place. I don't care if you have an opinion. I don't even care if you SHARE that opinion, but remember - keep it civil or I will delete the comment and ban you from reading again.

Now, on to the topic of the post
The last few weeks, there has been a LOT of discussion about different personal rights. Between DOMA and the right for the LGBT community to have the same personal rights as the rest of us, and the anti-abortion bills that other states are forcing on people without the democratic process, I am FED UP with the politics of this country. I can understand that republican males still seem to think they are the top of the food chain and everyone else is below them. Or at least that's the way it seems by the way they handle different things. They make laws regarding other peoples rights, taking away certain personal rights because they don't feel the same way. They make laws based on THEIR religion, not taking into account that there are a lot of people that don't believe the same way that they do.
Those of you who know me know that I think that is completely wrong. They claim to be following what Jesus said, and the way that he acted, but at the end of the day they aren't. Jesus freaking washed the feet of PROSTITUTES and RELIGIOUS LEADERS that didn't view things the way he did. He preached to them, yes, but he didn't FORCE those views on them. If they didn't want to follow in his footsteps he didn't take their rights away.
The biggest thing that bothers me is that they are making those laws based on very strict Christian views. They quote bible verses about how marriange is supposed to only be one man and one woman, completely leaving out the verses that show that there were, indeed, other versians of marriage in the bible. They don't follow all the verses in the bible, but they expect the rest of the country to, and that just rubs me the wrong way.
Texas politicians are at the top of my hate list right now. They are rushing through a bill that has been OPENLY opposed by the vast majority of the texas population that will effictivly shut down ALL abortions - no matter the reason for them - in the entire state. Doesn't matter if those getting the abortion NEED the abortion because their life is at stake. They don't care if he pregnancy is because that person was RAPED and doesn't want a constant reminder the rest of their life of such a horrific event. They have STOPPED testimony from THOUSANDS of people who signed up to speak about the bill - going so far as to say they will not allow the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS in this whole thing because it's slowing things down. It breaks my heart for all the women who are going to get pregnant due to contraception failure, or from rape or incest. It breaks my heart for the women who will have severe complications later in the pregnancy when they will have to put up with it - possibly dying - beause of some MALE PRICK sitting in an office with a bunch of other male pricks making a law that will not affect them AT ALL! Yet, the moment anybody states anything that would affect THIER rights, they get all up in arms. HYPOCRITES!!!!!
I am so fucking fed up with politics. I am so tired of having to hear about all these idiots making laws that could affect me at some point. I just HATE that there isn't really anything that we can do about it because those same pricks just don't give a shit about anybody but themselves. I swear, if it starts to directly affect me, I'm moving out of this country. And yeah, there are a LOT of other countries that have it far worse than we do. There are a LOT of other countries that have some crazy ass laws that restrict the rights of people. I will NOT be moving to one of them. But truthfully, I could stand to move to a country that actually allowed socialized healthcare for the people - which would mean healthier, happier people. I'm all for paying a little more in taxes to a country that actually uses it for what they SAY they are gonna use it for. It just breaks my heart that the "best country in the world" can't get politics out of it's ass.
What a lot of these politicians pushing these damn laws don't realize is that if they DO pass them with so many opposed to it, they will be OUT OF A JOB come next election. Just, UGH!
