Life, love, and the pursuit of sanity

Ya know, life isn't horrible. These last few years have been pretty good, all things conisdered.  Yeah, we've had some horribly rough times, but it could always have been worse.  We have two amazing little girls, amazing friends, and an amazing life.  We have more love now than I ever though possible.

But sometimes life just has to remind us that she's in charge, haha.

The last couple days have been TORTURE.  Well, kinda.  Our Air conditioner motor went out Saturday.  Probably has been going out for a while, but it officially died Sat. We had left to go for a walk and to pick up some groceries and stuff, and when we got back it was HOT in the apartment.  So we called the office, thinking that it was probably the freon.  But NOPE.  It was the motor.  And because it went out on a Saturday they couldn't even ORDER the part until monday.  So yeah, that was fun.

They did give us a window unit, which we put in the kitchen so we could keep the front rooms cool since they get the hottest during the day with the big patio windows facing the sun part of the day.  And with the fan blowing the air into the living room it hasn't been THAT bad. Yeah, it still gots HOT in the heat of the day.  But sitting around in shorts with the fan blowing on us seemed to make it bearable.

Sunday was laundry, so it wasn't that bad.  Put the fan in the bedroom for Ruben while we went to go do laundry at the in-laws.  That wasn't bad.  Ruben managed to sleep ok, so that helped me feel a bit better about the whole thing.

Monday they were supposed to fix the AC.  So we waited.  And we waited.  And we waited.  Spent all morning waiting for the truck to show up - and it never did.  I ran a handfull of errands.  Got the cox bill copy I needed, picked up the rent and some groceries, put gas in the car, and paid the rent.  Then that afternoon i go over to enroll Desriree at 1pm.  Get over there, get all the paperwork filled out and copied, and we realize she's missing a shot.  Which kinda pisses me off cause we went to get her shots the 30th of last month.  They got all the rest, but forgot the other one.  SOO, I went home and called to find out what was going on.  And sure enough they'd forgotten it.  So i packed the girls up and we ran back out to get that one shot taken care of.  I'd called and spoken with the head nurse, so she fast tracked us.  Had all her paperwork waiting on us.  I think we were in the office MAYBE 15-20 mins TOTAL.  Then we came home and tried to relax in the heat.  And still the part never showed.  SOO, yeah. Busy busy day, lol.  BUT, i got it all accomplished.

Tuesday we didn't do much of anything.  I went over first thing and got Desi finished enrolling.  I go back Tuesday when we enroll Ivy for the new year and they get to meet their teachers. :)  And then they officially start school the following monday.  HOLY CRAP!  Where'd the summer go?  lol.  It was a fun one though.  We got to do a lot as a family - thanks to the new car from my friend and the fact it had AC.  :)  I am ready for school to start, even though I'm a little nervous about what I'm gonna do with myself with both girls in school, haha.  I've got a lot to do around the house the first few days, but we will see what I come up with after I'm done with all that.

And then here we are today.  Still no AC.  At least not yet.  The office called not that long ago and said the head maintanence man went to pick the part up, so HOPEFULLY they will be able to get it fixed soon.  That would be AWESOME!  I was honestly getting pissed off.  Not because it wasn't here.  Because shit happens that people can't control.  But because we were having to call them to find out what was going on.  I don't even care, as long as you keep me in the loop - ya know?

Tomorrow is payday. Got a couple things to take care of.  The first is Desiree's birthday stuff.  NO IDEA what I'm gonna get her yet, lol.  And the second is a gift for Rachels baby shower that's gonna be this Saturday.  :)  And gotta make sure to set back a little extra gas money so we can go to that. :)  And also Saturday we've gotta go drop off and pick up some models from James.  So that'll be a busy day.  But it'll still be good.  I know it will be. :)

Still hard to beleive that things are moving so fast.  It'll be weird to have some extra money once the girls start school.  Not a lot, because we will still have school expenses and stuff.  But a little here and there for me to play around with. That's kind of an exciting prospect for me, haha.  Guess we will see though.

Ok, i'm gonna go relax for a bit and wait to see what happens.

LOVE YOU GUYS
LYZ
