Rewarding and crazy days

Yesterday was one of those days were I got to do something really rewarding, and help someone else in the process, and it felt wonderful, lol.  I've wanted to help the girls teachers out, but I really don't have the time or energy to help BOTH their homeroom teachers, ya know? SOO, I figured something else out, haha.

Ivy had ben asking if she could help the art teacher out.  During open house she had noticed that the room was a bit cluttered, and the floor was a mess.  The teacher (who is new this year) said she would have had it clean, but didn't have time to get around to it.  SOO, Ivy piped up that she could help.  SOO, Monday after school she finally got to help.  Her and Desiree sorted a giant tub of crayons that she had.  And while they were doing that, the teacher and I got to talking about the things that she wants to get done around her classroom.  The main thing she was having a hard time with was the art supply closet.  And upon closer inspection, I understood why, haha.  It was a MESS!  Nothing was really organized, and it was just a bunch of boxes covering up the shelves.  SOO, I made plans to come out and help her one day during the week.  I came in yesterday during the end of her lunch/ planning period and got started.  I was there for 3 hours, and got quite a bit accomplished.  There's still a TON left to do, but it's going to take some good hard elbow grease, and a few good hours (or days, lol).  And we are gonna do some more work around the room too.   Probably after school some times.  That way she can get it good and organized and know where everything is without having to search forever.  :)  That made me feel really good.  And when I was done, she had tears in her eyes and asked if she could give me a hug. :)  That is always a great feeling.  I'm glad I got to help, and I hope I can do it again soon.

Well, then I got the girls and we came home.  They did their homework, and I relaxed a bit.  Then I started chicken thawing for dinner.  I got distracted while I was running the water, and flooded the kitchen.  Yes, clutzy me, haha.  Well, then I rushed in there to turn it back off when I remembered - and hit the wet tile floor, and fell.  Hit my leg, and my ankle, and I'm pretty sure my hip and arm too.  Graceful huh?  And I had a soaking wet skirt because I was sitting in the floor, haha.  Well, Ivy was there and saw it happen, so she ran and woke Ruben up, who came to my rescue.  And while I was changing clothes and crying cause it hurt like a bitch, the girls cleaned up my mess. :)  They are such amazing little helpers.  Well, anyway, I am hurting like a bitch today.  Just glad I didn't really have anything to do today or tomorrow, cause I'd have had to cancel because of how bad this hurts.  BUT, I'll survive.  A little pain isn't a bad thing, ya know?  So yeah.

Then this morning, I totally forgot to send Desiree's folder back to school.  UGH!  So that annoyed me, lol.  But thankfully her teacher was super helpful and told me to just send it tomorrow.  AND, She had made an oops too, lol.  She says she  misplaced Desis book order, SOO, she had me fill out another one so she could get it taken care of.  Honestly, I think she was just doing it to make me feel better, but I'll take it, haha.  She really is a good teacher. :)  And Desi seems to love her, so I can't complain, not one little bit.

SO today we ran an errand to get Ruben more soda for work, and then came home and took a nap.  YAY nap!  Actually managed to get two full hours of nap today, so that was nice.  Then got up about time to get the girls from school, came home and got their homework done.  Now I'm just killing an hour before time to get dinner started.  Pretty sure I'm gonna do something with chicken and MAYBE curried ramen.  Sounds yummy, and it's super easy. :)  SOO, that should be good.  And Hopefully everyone will like it.

Tomorrow is picture day for the girls.  And thank goodness for amazing friends, I tell ya what.  One friend is paying for the main package for each girl for us. :)  And then my mom and dad, and Ruben's mom and dad are giving us 10 each to upgrade it to the next level so everyone can get another pic or two.  I went ahead and got the build your own package thing online so that I could give people bigger pictures.  They will all get at least a 3/5 and one 1.5/2.5.  :)  That takes care of Ruben and I, Both sets of grandparents, both sets of great grandparents, and all the aunts and uncles. :)  SOO super happy that we have such awesome friends - cause I wouldn't have been able to get them myself.  We are BROKE broke, ya know?  So that makes me super super happy.  Just gotta be sure to keep paying it forward (or paying them back - in certain cases) whenever we get the chance.

Saturday is OKC wars.  Gonna probably go swimming again, and then play a game or two of Warmachine (hopefully) while we are there.  Had a really good time last time though, playing all the other random games.  So hopefully it will be just as much fun this time too. :) I'm just glad that we are doing this now, because for the longest time I was so lonely and never got to see anybody.  This way we get to game again, and see everyone, and it's really nice to get to hang out. :)  So that'll be all day Saturday - and then I'm sure I'll crash out early, haha.  I usually do after OKC wars.  But we will see.

For now, I'm gonna go turn on another cheesy movie, take some more painkillers, and relax till time to make dinner.  LOVE YOU GUYS!

Lyndsey
